Over the past two weeks, you will have noticed that solar panels have been mounted on the roof of the Pairc Mhaigh Cuilinn clubhouse. This is part of a sustainable energy project at Pairc Mhaigh Cuilinn, which includes a hot water system, 10kW of battery storage and a smart link to provide excess power back to the electricity grid, helping to reduce our electricity costs further.
The energy generated by the panels will power the clubhouse and recharge the Automower for the pitches, ensuring that grass maintenance is close to a zero carbon emissions activity. It will also ensure that hot water is always available for showers for people using the facilities. This will eliminate the need for home heating oil to provide hot water for the clubhouse.
This project was completed with the generous support of the Ardderroo Windfarm, Leitir, Roscathail, Community Funding Program, the SEAI, and Electric Skyline. Electric Skyline designed and implemented it. The system is now in place and fully operational. This is another step in our commitment to reducing the carbon footprint of our sporting facility.
